| My name is Tim Davis and I have been involved
in drafting as a professional for over half my life. In the late 1970's,
I studied general drafting from college courses offered through the U.S.
Navy.
In the late 1980's I took a position with a local surveying company in Marietta, Georgia where I was trained in office as a survey drafter and also a drafter for a local architect. I took courses at this time at a local technical institute and the North American School of Drafting. I trained as CAD operator using some of the early programs such as AutoCAD and CadVance also through courses given by Georgia Tech. At the end of the 1980's, I took a position at Superior Modular Homes in Madisonville, Tennessee where I had the title of quality control supervisor and draftsman to the companies architect and engineer. In 1990, I opened a general drafting office in Athens, Tennessee where I was partnered with an experienced architectural designer and a local architect and completed my apprenticeship training as an architectural designer. During this time I completed layouts for local manufacturing plants including an automotive parts manufacturer and two plastic injection molding plants who had me working in almost all fields of drafting. Early in 2000, I left the drafting and design industry and became a full time Baptist pastor and chaplain. During this time I wrote several courses on architectural and mechanical drafting which was used to support my ministry. I continued to draw homes, business designs, and mechanical drawings from time to time to keep my skills up and using this also to support the ministry. As of March, 2010, I have re-entered the field of Drafting and am ready, willing, and able to serve you. |

| How This Works
My work is on an hourly basis. I work at a flat rate of $35.00 per hour. If I need to travel to your location to complete the work assigned, you must pay expenses which includes transportation and lodging if it's an over night stay. I'll pay for the meals. What's Needed Upon hiring me as your draftsman, you must understand that the drawings will only be as good as the information supplied to the drafter. You, no doubt, are either an engineer of some sort, inventor, or industrial supervisor and know your particular field of study well. I will need as complete notes and sketches as is reasonably possible and take on no liability whatsoever for the original design or it's uses and or applications. From your notes and sketches I will draw what is asked of me and post it on a personalized private website for you to review. This web site will include links to your drawings in PDF format which you can print to scale and also your invoice for the time worked. I am completely willing to enter into a privacy agreement with you or your company. Your designs and ideas are yours alone and I will not hold any claim to them. At the time of completion of your project, if you request it, I will gladly turn all electronic drawing files and your notes back over to you. Once we have decided on the scope of the project and estimated as near as possible, the cost of the drawings, I will ask for one third of the projected amount up front. If it cannot be determined how much the project will cost, a retainer amount will be agreed upon by both parties. |
